DEPRESSION SCREENING TEST:
My Story

My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last year and 10 months, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor.

I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

  1. Noah have you heard of clomid? My doctor took me off shots and on 1/2 pill
a day. Clomid kick starts your testicles and makes them produce your own
natural T. And it also increases your spark count. That’s why I stopped
shots, because my wife ad I are trying to conceive. My T score was 96 and 3
months of clomid brought it up to 496 of 1000.

    1. I have heard of clomid but had no experience with it at this time. Glad
its working for you and I will you luck with the mrs.

  3. I feel you. I am also losing some of the hair on my head and hair is
growing in places where I don’t want them.

    1. Not giving up today! I will re afirm that each day till the hard times
pass. You seem cool as well. Thanks.

  4. I have always known you to look like that. Its your signature look! I’m
    sure Jess doesn’t mind!

    1. I like that, signature look! She doesn’t mind one bit. It was me who got
all freaked when I first noticed it.

  5. I keep my hair fairly short too cos I’m losing it only on top. But not
being to gay but you look really hot. Some ppl wouldn’t be looking at
whether you have hair. There’s your personality, your courage, your
muscles, the fact that you are honest about sharing your story. So I guess
it helps when ppl edify you not cos you are losing hair but even through
the hardtimes you are still humble, you’re honest and you care about others
even if your story helps one person. I think you are pretty awesome sharing
all your ups and downs along your journey. It does get better.

  7. lighter side… new old spice deodorant ad. The Tupee ( Hair Extender )
might be empowered to do such amazing feats !!! — so, who knows. Then
again, does anyone want a deodorant to smell like anything that shouldn’t
    ?!?

  8. Hey Noah, you’ve probably answered this question a number of times in your
videos, but I was wondering what was your LH and FSH levels prior to
    starting TRT?

  9. Your channel has inspired me to start my own TRT/HRT channel. I’m getting
my first shot tomorrow!! Thanks for everything man – all of your info
definitely helped me make the decision. I hope to increase my quality of
    life very soon!!

    1. Thats awesome bro. I hope your quality of life increases soon for sure and
I subbed your channel. Look forward to watching your progression. Not
that you asked, but remember to turn your phone sideways when you record,
and pace yourself. It will be a long journey and you don’t want to get
      burned out. Stay up!!

  10. Hi Noah! Great video as always!… Q. Will you get bald on testosterone
replacement? lol NO! The answer is no (of course not lol) .. The reason of
ur baldness is your shower time! YES! Believe it or not, baldness is due to
your shower time.. It seems like that when you take your shower, you out
the water too hot, and it hits the head directly, removing the nature oil
of ur hair and without that your hair won’t grow, of course.. Just try not
to shower with water not too hot and you’ll be fine. 🙂 many hugs!

    1. +Things that probably you didn’t know Balding is due to dihydrotestosterone
(DHT) “influencing” the genetically susceptible hair follicles. Warm/Hot
water would likely stimulate blood flow which is not a bad thing. It
certainly isn’t the reason people have androgenic alopecia , or any
      alopecia.

  11. What about body hair? Have you experienced an increase? I have both low t
and a lot of hair on various parts of my body (very odd combination, I must
say). I fear that I will experience more body hair growth if I start taking
    testosterone.

I would really appreciate it if you could give me you opinion on this
    issue.

  12. This guy is cool..he gives a lot of good points in his videos..wish they
can all be like this him..keep it up bro thanks for takin the time to
educate a lot of us here

  13. I’ve been shaving my head smooth for about 20 years now, long before I ever
showed any signs of balding. But of course I have thinned out considerably
on the top since then (hard to tell how much because I never let it grow
past 2 days, 3 max; usually every other day it’s shaved). I’ve always said
that I can’t wait to go bald since that would require far less shaving on
my part, and I’d go through fewer razors. 🙂 So TRT, bring it!

But I wonder if other hairy places are impacted by TRT? Does it cause
facial or body hair growth? I’ve heard both ways, neither sounding too
sure. It just seems intuitive to me that T would cause hair growth….but I
    guess not?
