DEPRESSION SCREENING TEST:

My Story

My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last year and 10 months, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor.

I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

  1. HA! Yeah, I pretty much agree with everything you said. Especially sex
drive. I am back to being horny all the time. Like being 18 again.

  2. I’m a youthful 38 and an active, attractive guy (that’s me in my avatar).
The past 3 years the following symptoms have been getting worse: focus,
motivation, libido/erection quality, mood, and ability to lose fat. I
occasionally take Ritalin and Cialias to deal with these in particularly
rough times. I thought it might be low T a year ago and tested at 510,
which isn’t super low. I tried most of the natural tips I could think of in
the past year, and just tested again last week and it dropped to 420, so
perhaps I’ve been losing 90 points per year over the last year! It’s
affecting my career and relationships. These are still technically “in
range”, but I’d prefer to be high-normal….like in the 800s. I have an
appt with an endocrinologist in 5 weeks, and it feels like a year away.

What do you recommend I say to the endo, and what treatment do you suggest
    I inquire about?

Also interested in HGH as I have some nagging joint injuries that won’t
    heal.

    1. +blurglide Good luck. I just got my first injection. I have been in the
condition you for about 3-4 years. I tested out at 202… I’m am going to
be interested in how this will go.

    1. If you did not before than no. if you were producing beforehand and had no
issues in that regard, chances are high that over time you will. It will
probably take a very long time tho in some cases.

  3. Thanks so much for your information, and your willingness to share about
your experiences Noah; you’re doing a great service! JSC

  4. I am on week one of trt. i notice more energy already and better mood. If
my doctor took me off i think id feel drained again

  5. Just have to say, I’ve watched almost all your T videos and you’re amazing!
Thank you for putting your experience out here for guys like me. I’ve been
having low T for 5 years and I’ve had problems with doctors wanting to
treat due to my age (27y/o) just found a new doctor which I’m hoping it
goes somewhere like finding the issue and treating the problem. Levels 159
with every symptom you’ve described. Apparently that’s normal… Anyways
    Thank You!

  6. Thank you for your videos. they are giving me some hope to go on. I have a
Dr appointment next week with a specialist for low t. I am so depressed and
have zero sex drive and it is killing my marriage. I hope this helps me
because I don’t know what else to do.

  7. Man, you are like Entertainment Tonight! Making something out of nothing!
My uncle has been on TRT for 31 years!! No problems or side effects! 100mg
    a week.

  8. As for checking testosterone levels I’ve had mine checked since I’m
suffering from a lot of symptoms of Low T and my total came out at 263 but
my free came back at 12.6 and the endo said I’m not low enough to receive
treatment. I just dont get how a 30 year old male could have those types of
readings and not be considered low t. All the endo would focus on was Free
T and how they dont treat based on total t. Any suggestions?

    1. +XxxSUM12NVxxX go to a specialized clinic for low t or male enhancement.
they can prescribe it for off label use.

    2. +XxxSUM12NVxxX agree with the red chilli. Traditional physicians treat the
lab results only. More insightful physicians will treat your symptoms,
irrespective of the absolute values of your lab tests. The reason is that
even of your T came back at 650 (within the so-called normal range), they
postulate that when you were younger and without the low T symptoms your T
may have been say 900-1000; therefore, for your body, there has been a drop
in T and your body sees this drastic change, hence the low T symptoms. They
supplement T for you, and watch to confirm if your symptoms go away – which
is proof that for your body, a T level of 650 is too low.

  9. I’m considering HRT as I found out I have low test I also have treatment
resistant depression so I hope this helps me thanks for the vid

  10. My doctor told me my T is extremely, extremely low, close to none. May be
the reason of my penis sensitive is close to gone during sex until I
orgasm. You had the same problem?

  11. hey! super informative, and you seem pretty genuine with regards to the
    pros and cons.
i’ve been diagnosed with low t and start my treatment tomorrow. very exited
and hoping to experience the benefits. im going to proceed with my eyes
open and the guidance of my doctor. watching your video helped with the
decision to go ahead. thanks dude!
