My Story

My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a vaccine called VIVITROL and consequently spiraled into a major, agitated, suicidal depression with depersonalization. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who along with many siblings and friends had to watch me 24/7 as I was so suicidal. I was eventually hospitalized. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, Mood stabilizers, anti psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I for the first time had any type of possible explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of such Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started Testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last year and 6 months, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor.

I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time!

  1. Started my TRT yesterday in gel form, thank you so much for your videos,
they’ve been incredibly helpful and continue to be.

  2. I’m on my 4th week of trt and def feel a bit more energy.
This stuff takes time it is not instant change but a gradual change.
I just keep telling myself to be patient.
    Great videos Noah.

  3. Have you ever use Clomifene my (Urologist) doctor is suggesting this rather
than Testosterone treatment I’m a little unsure of his thought process plus
he has sent me for multiple blood draws which I understand but now he’s
sending me to a Endocrinologist to poke and prod me more I really just want
to go back to feeling better and if he keep not treating me this may never
get resolved. BTW here are some of my test results: Total Testosterone 213
    ng/dL, Sex Hormone Bng Glob 36 nmol/L, Testosterone, Free 36 pg/mL, % Free
Testosterone 1.7%. Any and all help you might have will be greatly
appreciated since this is driving me crazy and causing me nights of worry.
Your video’s are really well done and have helped me reach out for help I
    just wish some was coming.

    1. I have not even heard of Clomifene but am always interested in learning. I
will check it out. Thanks for the comment. I hope you get back to feeling
      better soon brother.

  4. Hey Noah, I’m 11 weeks in and I feel slightly better. I was 192 before.
I’m at 870 currently. I was recently prescribed an AI because now my E2
is up at 68.5. I’m hoping that I will keep on feeling better. Do you think
even the next few months will make a difference? HCG 250iu twice a week,
    100mg test per week.

    1. Yes I think the next few months will make a difference! Stay strong and
keep working on the other things in your life that can lead to better
      overall quality.

  5. Thanks a lot for your wise words Nosh ,saw your vid with your brother he’s
a really good guy for helping you get through the hard times you have
endured which I can relate to it made me abit emotional too regardless of
what’s going in my body coming across your videos earlier on I was feeling
low an upset but your videos gave me hope that the battle isn’t lost and
now I’m going to war against these fucking demons of symptoms il update you

  9. Hi, I am on day two of TRT after my doctor prescribed me it. I have
Osteopenia of spine, all the sexual dysfunctions but the main one for me
is… Fatigue. I just wanted to ask anyone if they experienced fatigue and if
it improved after treatment? I suffer from really bad fatigue and brain fog
blah blah. Feeling pessimistic about the treatment u c

    1. +Eric H Hi Eric thanks for your post. It’s interesting you mentioned about
getting worse on day 8 , i’m on day seven now and it’s got so much worse
for me :/ Going doctors tomorrow to see what he says.

    2. +Eric H Hey Eric, my Doctor said to give it a bit more time and will review
if it’s enough in 3 months by the hormones secreted by my Pituitary. Then up
or down the dose. I have also been referred to Neurologist and M.E clinic
to test me for anything more serious

    3. Thanks Jim, I’m at about 21 days TRT now, and the sleepiness is starting to
ware off, I feel much better latter in the day. so it just takes a while to
get used to it (in my case)

  10. Hi Noah, great work, and thank for the positive outlook and info.

My story so far: I’m a 44 year old male, my main problems are fatigue and
brain fog, started about 14 years ago, I didn’t have the labido or ed
problems, I’ve been complaining to my doctor for years, finally they sent
me to a sleep doctor and discovered that I had apnea, so they treated me
for that (cpap blows!!) but I didn’t get any better as far as the fatigue
and brain fog went, to add to that I started doing about an hour of cardio
a day/ 3 days a week and couldn’t lose any weight, five years later and the
fatigue has got so bad, I was so frustrated, that I had to tell my doc
could it be low t without the Ed problems? he says ‘we can test you for it
any way, and see’. It turns out my Free T was 33, and total T was 140. 14
years, and I finally have an answer for my wife why I’m ‘lazy’ and it’s so
hard for me to get motivated. (God bless her for sticking with me, even
    though she doesn’t understand)

So the doc put me on Fortesta, (gel) 4 pumps daily, on day 8, the fatigue
and brain fog symptoms got drastically worse, I had to leave work, went
home and slept all day, woke up and ate and went back to sleep, this was a
Friday, sat and sun was some improvement, Monday I got hold of my doc, and
he suggested I cut my dose in half (2 pumps) this seems to have worked
because after 1 day I was able to work, but no real improvement compared to
before. I guess that shows that I’m absorbing the gel though,

I’m confident that I will improve, and thanks if you read my whole rant.
    Any feedback would be appreciated

Thanks again Noah (stay sober!!) and keep up the great work, it has made
this diagnosis bearable for me. I can’t wait for the exercise work to start
    to pay off.

  11. Hi, I am 55, and going on the 9th month of injections 2x monthly. Well,
I’ve been pushing it to work ever since the first week or two, now its up
to 9months. I guess its like a vitamin. you cant expect it to pop-out like
jack-n-the-box, or magic bean stalk beans!

  12. Hey Noah!
    This is Jad (:
I commented on your proposal video and truly loved it a few days back.
Thanking you again for inspiration (:

I just want to let you know that I did a blood test for my t levels and
came up with a total t level of 470 ng/dl. Im only 20 years old right now,
but I’ve spoken to you about depression which is the main reason I took the
    test.
I heard you mention in one of your videos that the average t level for this
    age group is 700 ng/dl.

It would be great if you can add your opinion so I can know what you think
since you have more experience. What do you think I should be doing at the
moment? What if my doc won’t let me on dismissing the average and looking
    at the normal range?

At the moment im still running on 20-30% and pushing myself through
university while trying to get my treatment going.

I would really appreciate your reply

Thank you for everything man, really.

    Jad

  13. Started my TRT injections about 2 weeks ago and got my second shot today.
They have me on Depo-Testosterone 1cc injections every 10-14 days. I hear
you call your injections something different. Is it the same thing or are
Depo and what your taking different?

    1. +bignoknow My test counts were 429 on my last labs before starting TRT
which is on the low end of the “Normal” scale. The lowest it had gotten was
180 about 2 years ago when all of this started. Libido was and still is
almost non existent…. I as well as my wife are hoping this will be the
solution as the range for my age should be between 500-750. I told the
doctor i would like to be on the upper end of this scale. He has me on 1cc
every 10-14 days and will do more labs in January to see where i am at. I
have been doing some reading and im getting mixed reviews on if T actually
helped ED/Libido… Curious to see what happens. I also started back to the
gym after my first injection 2 weeks ago and I can already tell a
difference in my stamina in the gym. I can lift for a good 1.5-2hrs before
i start to get burnt out as to before i would burn out in about 30 minutes!
      So… Hoping for the best!

    2. +Chip Shaw thats not low… mine said 33 …. i asked the doctor are you
kidding me… he said its correct… damn.. im starting mine 4-14-15.. wish
      me luck

  14. why the hell can’t I find a doctor here in my country who put on a decent
dose of injections and they prescribe only the stupid gels?

  15. +BignoKnow , thank you for these videos. I had been thinking that something
was up for a long while and finally got around to going to see the doc.
sure enough i’m running low for being 33 so my doc started me on TRT just
about 3 weeks ago going bi-weekly. My only question is that either I just
had a good night last night, which i did, or the trt kicked in and kicked
in with a fury. for example. woke up at around 5:30 am yesterday. was awake
all day(i work nights and this was my weekend) and went to bed around 12:30am,
was awake until around 1 or 1:30am. woke up wide awake at around 4:45 am.
normally it can take as much as 9 hours sleep fro me to feel really rested.
Is it normal that while adjusting that i’ll have some high levels of extra
energy or have i just been subsisting on caffeine and too little sleep for
this long that the boost the trt is giving feels that big?

  16. I only hope that EVERYONE will not think that all of their problems ARE in
fact only due to low Testosterone. Sorry to say that you could have low T,
but you could also have thyroid problems as well. OR…even a disease on
top of that. Please get a thorough medical work up and think twice BEFORE
start TRT, it is a lifelong commitment, and there is nothing “fun” about
it. Many guys on here get hyped and their labs are only 50 points below
optimal or the high end of the scale. I honestly wish that everybody could
get a doctor who is willing to take the time to work with you as a doctor
should but the sad fact is that MOST will not and are not willing to spend
more that 3 minutes per patient.

I do not know who PAYS for NOAH, but he has deluxe insurance AND both
parents are in the medical profession. Does he ever mention how much the
required test are or that ONE month supply of T is about 120.00? Noah is a
great guy and I appreciate him, but NO, he is NOT “an average Joe”! He
should try to completely STOP his TRT completely because he cannot afford
to buy it, then he would get a glimpse of what it is to be an “average Joe”.
I am just trying to put all of this into perspective in a practical way,
    NOT to bash Noah!

  17. Thanks for making this video! Testicular Cancer survivor here, and I just
started my shots. I take em every two weeks and I just took my 2nd dose.
Looking forward to some improvements and this was a good way to set my
    expectations.
